Meridia Tours ltd We founded the travel agency "Meridia Tours" with the aim to propose travellers a new kind of tourism to exploit and protect the most authentic and original aspects of places by selecting partners awaken to environmental protection. The social aim of Meridia Tours is to promote tourism around the Mediterranean area through: holidays at the dweller's, in small villages, b&b's, small hotels, farm houses practicing biological agriculture. direct meetings with local populations, associations, missions and organisations fostering fair trade in the world. visits of natural, archaeological and cultural beauties of the country. information on local means of transportation: car rent, buses, taxis, boats, trains… proposal of holidays for small groups ( from 6 to 14 travellers) to foster communication between the traveller and local communities. information before leaving (also by phone) in order to inform travellers on the most useful details and a sort of vademecum for "Responsible Tourism" , as well as all the necessary information on the country and on the chosen itinerary. the Discovering Sicily Blog: a place to exchange opinions and commentaries between travellers about the experience. I have been in love with this island, cultural meeting point of the mediterranean, since my childhood. My studies in communication and in the use of multimedia were the starting point to a further experience in this field and in IT. The towns of Catania and Palermo allowed me to put my knowledge into practice and to work in the field of communication and advertising. I travelled all around Sicily to discover the most hidden places, which made me know a more authentic Sicily and visit marvellous and unknown places. In 2001, I went to Barcelona, Spain, where I worked for four years. Love made me move to Toulouse where I have been living since 2005 ! After all these years in the field of new technologies and infograpy, I developed the project greensicily and created the agency Meridia Tours which reconciles my professional experiences with my passion for Sicily as well as with my wish to propose you a different way to travel. You need JavaScript enabled to view it I was born in Sicily, I left it many times but I have always come back and learned to love this land with its many contradictions, for its people, landscapes, and gastronomy are always charming. I have travelled many times all around my land and seen many changes throughout the last decades, always finding something new in every place I had already visited. My six years experience in running a farm-house in Ragusa helped me to know the travellers’ requirements and needs and I decided to work for the project “greensicily” where I take care of contacts with English speaking people. Julie I live in Toulouse too, withTano (you forgot to mention that !) I intern in medicine and I help supporting the project "greensicily" expecially the french version "Voyagesicile", I correct texts and help in selecting places to propose. I discovered Sicily thanks to Tano, every summer we visit small sicilian villages where I have experienced something magic: the sicilian gastronomy!
