It is a good solution for holidays lasting more than 12 days. It is slower, but this means of transportation is the ideal solution to discover Sicilian landscapes.
The cost is more or less 110 €  (with couchette) for a journey from the north of Italy. If you leave from Rome we advise you to leave at 9.00 p.m. to reach Catania at 9.00 a.m the following day well rested. Enjoy the typical embarkation of the train inside the ferry-boat at Villa San Giovanni in Calabria to reach Messina. Go to the deck of the boat
to taste a good italian coffee and a croissant admiring the sea between Scilla and Cariddi.

By ship
